NewAir AW-180E Thermoelectric 18 Bottle Wine Cooler With Touch Screen

NewAir AW-180E Thermoelectric 18 Bottle Wine Cooler With Touch Screen

Product Description

In order to fully enjoy a bottle of wine's true aroma, it's important to keep it at the proper temperature, as serving it too cold will cause it to lose its flavor notes while excessively warm temperatures will speed up the aging process.  However, whether you're a budding wine connoisseur or a true oenophile, you don't have to spend thousands of dollars building a home wine cellar.  Instead, a thermoelectric wine cooler such as the NewAir AW-180E is a great, affordable way to keep your wine properly chilled.

18 Bottle CapacityThe NewAir AW-180E thermoelectric wine cooler has an eighteen bottle capacity with digital controls that make it incredibly easy to use.

LED Light for Visibility
The LED light provides bright contrast and the touch screen on the display is intuitive and easy to control.  Moreover, an internal LED light within the NewAir AW-180E wine cooler illuminates for greater visibility so that you know exactly which bottle of wine you are pulling out.

Quiet Thermoelectric Cooling System
In terms of sound, because the unit's thermoelectric technology involves very little moving parts, this results in vibration-free, silent operation that won't disturb your indoor environment.
Chrome-Plated Wine Racks

Lastly, for a touch of sophistication, the racks inside the NewAir AW-180E are chrome-plated.

Customer Reviews

Review 1:
We love this cooler. It works great and is quiet. The temp is accurate. I compared it to a portable digital thermometer and it is right on. It looks great, small and affective. The LED light adds to the look. Very smooth and sleek.

Review 2:
We've only had it for 30 days but this appliance is great. It's quiet, cools down quickly, the door alarm is a nice feature, it's very attractive with or without the interior light on and can also be used for soda or beer with no cooling capacity hit. So far, so good!

Review 3:
Just the wine cooler I finally ending up getting. Paid a little more for this 18 bttl , blue light display one. Better than buying a much smaller one without the lights and only 10- 15 dollars difference. I will be having my grand opening on bar next week --FINALLY --
I will semi stock the bar in april and fully stock the entire bar by may and june for sure. This is a great wine cooler and you definitely want this as part of your set up

Review 4:
We previously owned another brand (that cost over $300) - but that gave us nothing but trouble. After one round of repairs (and hours with customer service), it died again, and we gave up. I did an extensive internet search and found that in the under $300 / medium capacity wine coolers - there didn't seem to be ANY that had great reviews, and I didn't want to spend that much money on another questionable product.

Reviews for the NewAir were consistently good to very good - and the price was significantly lower than $300, so I selected this one. I figured, if it, too, dies, I won't have invested as much.

So far so good! Easy setup, runs great, maintains consistent temperature, external temp and light controls is a nice feature, runs quiet, and has an overall very nice appearance. Can't speak to how long this unit will last as I've had it for just a couple of months, but so far, I couldn't be happier with it.

Review 5:
The wine cooler arrived promptly, in perfect condition, and has worked as described. A satisfactory purchase.

Review 6:
Have had the unit now for 1+ week. Everything is in working order, and unit cools well. Has a nice look to it especially with stainless steel handle installed, with a rather solid door. Nice interior lighting. Wife opened bottle of wine earlier this evening and temperature was within range. Would recommend.

Review 7:
Bought this for a xmas gift for the hubby but we opened it much prior to xmas since we were hosting the holiday. The temp fluctuates between 54 and 55 degress which is fine with me. The blue light is illuminating at night but again, fine with me....especially as a night light. The skinnier bottles do fit better but we have 18 of all sizes that fit just fine. Although it's only been a month I can say so far so good. The unit is also very handsome.

Review 8:
I love my wine cooler! keeps my wine at the perfect temperature, very happy would recomend it to any one looking for the best!

Review 9:
This is the second wine cellar I have purchased in the last 3 years and I researched this for a week. The last wine cellar I had was a bust from Oster, a great Black Friday deal but stopped working after 6 months. My experience was that it took several hours to cool down and it was realy picky about the ambient temperature. Just a little dust on the back cover sent the internal temp upward and really, all I wanted was chilled wine!!! After all my research, I kept coming back to this model. This has the "look" I wanted for my kitchen but I had never owned a product by this company. I did read the other reviews regarding the humming sound it makes but in my position my previous wine cellar sounded like a jet taking off each time you opened the door to get out a bottle of wine and it had to kick in to lower the internal temp again.
When I first unpacked the NewAir cellar, my first thought was wow, this is beautiful!! I got it set in it's new home by the wet bar and plugged it in. Gorgeous!! The temperature starting out showed 74 degrees and it was automatically set to go down to 54 degrees. And it got to 54 degrees....in 30 minutes!!!! I was shocked!! So by that time, I loaded about 10 bottles of wine into the cellar. It took about 1 1/2 hours total to chill all that wine that had been at room temperature. I am very impressed with this machine. As for the humming sound, I have yet to hear it. I know it is working because the wine is cold, but not sure what the other reviewer were describing...maybe my kitchen is just noisy!!hahaahaha
Anyway, I would not hesitate to recommend this cellar and will follow up in a few months with an additional review.
09/14/10 UPDATE:
As promised, I wanted to give an update on the New Air Wine Cooler. It is still as great as when I first got it. Because it is thermoelectric, dust does affect the temperature and I noticed that when we were finishing our kitchen remodel, all the dust from sawing wood and drywall did cause the temp to raise a few degrees. I just blew out the back and within 30 seconds the temp started to drop back to 52. Now when I see the temp go up to 53 or 54 I know it is time to blow out the back cover. I would say I do that once every 3 months and for the record, I feel like our house has an inordinate amount of dust year round so in a house with less dust this may not even be needed. I am still very happy with this purchase and highly recommend it.
